As a child living in West Yorkshire we came to Heysham village on holiday. It was a far busier place in those days. I remember the stalls on the village street, Heysham Head and the tea cabin by the rocks. We also used to visit a tea room down a side street. It was more like a house really and it was run by a really sweet old lady. We went back year after year and always referred to it as "The Old Ladies." She was so sweet and kind to me and my sister I remember her with greatest of affection but who was she? I would love to know her name and a bit more about her. This was in the late 1950's. Really appreciate any information- Thank you - JE (West Yorkshire) [We think this may have been on Bailey Lane. The tea room there was run by Mrs Foy and her sister]
When I was a little girl (now 70) I used to visit Heysham with my Aunt and always looked forward to going for afternoon tea to the little cafe on the left hand side of the village. It was set in a garden and had small huts where you had tea, are there any pictures of this garden cafe...it was magic. I think the garden is still there, it was on the bend just before going down to the shore - T (Lancashire) [Was this Hadath’s Tea Gardens at Greese Cottage? We have added a photograph of this on the Images of Heysham page]
